Zohra Sehgal's full name was Sahibzadi Zohra Begum Mumtaz Ullah Khan. He was born on 27 April 1912 in Saharanpur. He studied at the Ballet School in Dresden, Germany until the age of 20. After returning to India, she tried her hand at acting and joined the Indian People's Theaters Association in 1945.

Things had turned into a riot but later, everyone agreed. The fire of the Partition of India also reached his home. Both reached Lahore and had opened the dance institute here, but soon it seemed that it would be difficult to survive in Lahore, even if the institute was running. Both of them fled to Bombay with a year-old baby girl Kiran, where Zohra's sister Ujra was a prominent heroine of Prithvi Theater.

 

In 1945, Zohra Sehgal joined the Prithvi Theater. At that time he used to get 400 rupees per month. Apart from Prithvi Theater, Zohra was also an active member of IPTA. When Ipta made her first film under the direction of Khwaja Ahmad Abbas, 'DhartiKe Lal', she also became its heroine. Due to IPTA, Zohra also got work in Chetan Anand's 'Neecha Nagar'. She started doing choreography in films. The famous dream song of Raj Kapoor's film 'Awara' is decorated by Zohra Sehgal. From then onwards, Rishi Kapoor's son Ranbir Kapoor's debut film 'Saawariya', Zohra Sehgal kept bringing smiles to the faces of the audience with his special acts.
