Miley Cyrus Party in the U.S.A

“Everybody’s definitely looking at me now,” Miley Cyrus sang, amending lyrics from her 2009 hit, “Party in the U.S.A.”

Miley Cyrus handled a late-night New Years wardrobe malfunction with aplomb.

Miley Cyrus Party in the U.S.A: After celebrating the New Year on her NBC New Year’s Eve special, titled Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party, the 29-year-old singer lost her top during a performance, forcing her to improvise quickly and change clothes, while continuing his set.

The moment came after Cyrus performed her hit “We Can’t Stop” and moved on to another popular song, “Party in the U.S.A” As she walked across the stage in a silver gown, Cyrus could be seen holding her top as she sang the song’s opening lyrics, before heading backstage as her singers and band continued to perform.

During the song’s first chorus, the “Angels Like You” crooner returned to the stage in a red blazer she had worn earlier in the show.

“Everyone’s looking at me now,” Cyrus joked, channeling the lyrics from the 2009 song. “I still wear most of the clothes I’ve ever worn on stage,” she added between the lyrics.

“Thank you so much, everybody, thank you. Tonight’s show was all about being flexible, rolling with the punches, and making the best out of even the worst circumstances. And that resilience shouldn’t end here. Let’s bring that into the New Year with us,” Cyrus said at the end of the program. “We’ve all learned how to expect the unexpected, and rather than see it as a problem, let’s see it as an opportunity. I wish everyone here in Miami and everyone watching from home a happy and healthy 2022. Thank you for making tonight possible. You were really all that I needed to have the ultimate party.”

The special, broadcast live on NBC and airing on Peacock, was filmed in Miami as the country grapples with the COVID19 pandemic and the wave of the omicron variant. Cyrus said at the start of the show that the entire crowd was vaccinated.

Miley Cyrus Party in the USA, She’s New Year’s Eve came from Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels and saw Pete Davidson co-host. Cyrus and television producer Lindsay Shookus have also signed on as executive producers.

“In what is sure to be an exciting and fun evening, we are looking forward to partnering with Lorne Michaels and ringing in 2022 with a night of incredible entertainment, led by Miley and Pete,” Jen Neal, Executive Vice President, Events in direct, specials and E! News, NBCUniversal, said in a statement last month.

The special marks the first time Carson Daly has not hosted NBC’s New Years coverage since 2004 (except December 31, 2017, when it was not aired due to an NFL broadcast.)
