According to the information received, a team of terrorists opened fire on a convoy of CRPF going on petrol duty in Kajiabad on Monday evening. An attacker was shot dead by CRPF personnel in an encounter that followed this firing. Three CRPF personnel injured during retaliation in the area were killed.

High alert, large search operation started in Kupwara After the information of the incident, the army has launched a major search operation in the areas of Karalgund, Kajiabad and Naugam. Army Rashtriya Rifles and Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel are also participating in this operation. After two major terrorist incidents, several teams of Special Forces and Rashtriya Rifles of the Army have started searching for terrorists on a large scale in Kupwara. Two terrorists were killed in an encounter between security forces and militants in Handwara in Jammu and Kashmir. But in this encounter, 5 security personnel, including an army colonel and a major, were killed. Those skilled in the encounter included two army personnel and a commando of the Jammu and Kashmir Police.

CISF Jawan Injured In Grenade Attack

On the other hand, a soldier of the Central Industrial Security Force was also injured in a grenade attack on the security forces’ camp in Srinagar’s Naugam area. Militants hurled grenades at the camp of the jawans posted under the security of a power station located in the Wagura area, an official said. One soldier was injured in the attack. Security forces have launched a search operation to locate the attackers.

Five soldiers were martyred in Handwara

On the other hand, a CISF jawan has been seriously injured in a grenade attack carried out by terrorists at a power grid station in VaguraNaugam of district Budgam in Kashmir. The terrorists throwing the grenade managed to escape from there. The injured CISF personnel guarding the grid were immediately rushed to the hospital where he is undergoing treatment. However, the security forces have cordoned off the Wagura area of Naugam and conducted a search operation there. At present, no terrorist encounter is reported.

According to the information received from the police, while a patrol party of 92 battalions of CRPF was passing through Handwara, some militants hiding in the VangamKaralgund area attacked the soldiers. In this sudden attack, two soldiers were killed on the spot while eight others were seriously injured. The other soldiers immediately evacuated the injured and rushed them to the nearest hospital, where another soldier was martyred while not suffering the wounds, while seven others are being treated in the hospital.

A terrorist has been reported killed in retaliation. However, sources say that no weapon has been recovered from the suspected terrorist killed. After the encounter ends, the police will investigate whether the person killed was a terrorist or a local citizen. Immediately after the attack, the terrorists who fled from there hid in the Wangam area. Shortly afterward a joint team of police SOG, Army, and CRPF jawans reached there and laid siege to the Vangam area.

According to the army, all routes to and from Vangam have been sealed while search operations have been conducted in the area to search for terrorists. Seeing the darkness, the security forces have arranged additional lights there so that the terrorists are not able to take advantage of the darkness and leave. An army officer said that terrorists can hide in a house, so now the house-to-house search is being done.

Let us tell you that the security forces conducted a joint operation after receiving intelligence input of the presence of terrorists in the Chanjmulla area. Army National Rifles and Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel participated in it. Army Colonel Ashutosh Sharma, Major Anuj Sood, Nayak Rajesh, and Lance Naik Dinesh entered the house to liberalize the citizens. Shakeel Qazi, who was a sub-inspector of the Jammu and Kashmir Police was also included in this team of five people.

All these people entered the target area (where the terrorists were hiding) and faced the terrorists. During this period, one by one all the citizens held hostage were evacuated safely. In the midst of fierce firing, the army personnel protected the first civilians. During this rescue operation, brave soldiers were hit by several bullets.  Colonel Ashutosh, one of these brave hearts, had shown bravery many times in the campaign against terrorists in Kashmir. He had received the Gallantry Medal twice. He was counted among the best commanding officers posted in the Kashmir Valley. Two terrorists were killed in vengeance by Indian Army personnel.

Kupwara Is A District Of Northern Kashmir Adjacent To The Line Of Control.

A few kilometers from this area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district are the Indo-Pakistan Line of Control and the areas of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. In the past, all the terrorists who infiltrated from Karen and Naugam sectors of Kupwara have been piled up in the vicinity of Handwara. Apart from this, this part of Kupwara is counted in very sensitive areas of the valley due to the activities of cross border terrorism.
