Hours after Delhi Police Crime Branch and I-T officers mentioned they’re trying to find Rohit Tandon, the proprietor of T & T regulation agency, he returned to his GK-I workplace. Tandon’s regulation agency was raided on Saturday and allegedly over Rs 13 crore in money, of which Rs 2.5 crore was in new forex notes, was recovered.
He has allegedly advised I-T officers that he was not absconding and that he was at his Chhatarpur home, checking the legalities of the case, police sources mentioned. The I-T officers are, at current, questioning him.
According to police the regulation agency in Greater Kailash I used to be raided round 10.30 pm on Saturday. During the raid, police discovered money value Rs. 13.56 crore stashed in a godown.
Ravindra Yadav, JCP (crime), advised The Indian Express that Tandon is absconding. “We have launched a search for Tandon, who is reportedly the owner of a chain of properties in and around Delhi. The I-T department has already launched an investigation to nab him and has questioned the security guard of the property from where the money was recovered,” Yadav mentioned.
Some note-counting machines have been additionally discovered on the Greater Kailash property, Yadav added. “It seems like old notes were brought here and exchanged with new notes,” he mentioned.
Sources mentioned Tandon, a Supreme Court lawyer, lives in Radhe Mohan Drive in south Delhi and that he had declared Rs 125 crore in unaccounted revenue to the I-T division, after a raid at his residence and workplace on October 19.
Yadav mentioned that for the reason that raid in October, Tandon has been on the radar of the I-T division. “We have also informed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) about the recovery and they have also launched an investigation,” Yadav mentioned.
